I might be starting at US Bank tomorrow - which is great because the other job ended today. The drug tests are in. The Wells Fargo people have verified that I worked for them. The criminal background checks are in. The only person that needs to call and confirm that I'm working for him is [livejournal.com profile] frommy so if he does it by tonight I'm set for tomorrow. Of course it sounds like an Art Vandelay scheme but I preferred to put Pink Stucco Press as my employer on a print anthology in which I served in many capacities including promotions, editor and screening. It's all true and it sounds much better than "worked for a lot of companies doing stupid shit as a temp" Now it leaves out the fact that the anthology is my idea and I sold it to [livejournal.com profile] frommy in order to get one of my stories in circulation and find other markets. But it's mostly true.

And of course this also means that Teddy Bear Cannibal Massacre got me a banking job. I'll be saying that for a time.

ANd I have a mousepad from Lexapro (I worked for that pharmacist) with slight water and things floating around. It's not much - just enough to have bubbles. Toby is trying to figure it out now. Socrates just tried to get up and see what was the matter and Toby swatted him. I haven't driven my cat's crazy since that stuffed cat that meowed when you pushed a button (and then started screaming and shaking. It was great fun for a time) He's just scratching away at it, wondering why his claws don't do a thing to the thick plastic. This is fun to watch. He is moving the little floaty things in it too. This is the best mouse pad ever.

Of course it's a bit of a pain trying to use the mouse with the cat sitting on it. I should move it back to the left side of the desk and let toby have the mousepad.
