On my newsfeed, there's a very cute picture of a man holding a baby. No big deal. The baby is his granddaughter. The one part that I find hilarious is the fact that the diaper is colored like an American flag. Hell, it even looks like an American flag.
Which seems to be so much more disrespectful than burning the flag.
Of course, I find that hilarious. of course, I want to comment by noting that the cute baby will be pissing and shitting into the American flag.
But these people are my relatives. And while they aren't true blooded patriots and they might find it funny, they also might find it a little rude that I'm pointing out that they put the kid in an American flag diaper.
I don't know if they did it on purpose. On one hand - maybe - because my family has no filter. None of us. My standard joke is "what's it like being in a family with secrets? That must be awesome."
On the other hand, I just don't see my relatives making THAT kind of extreme political statement.
