Christopher Reeve is dead which probably is news to no one. But there I was making fun of Jacques Derrida for deconstructing his pancreas, and someone that I actually like dies. Then again I think it was only a matter of time. Still I wanted to see him run a marathon. Give everyone else hope. Not that everyone else is breaking their necks but just in case that happens. It's the same reason why I give money to those cancer funds. I don't plan on getting it but the possibility scares the hell out of me, so I might as well give money.

Which leads to an interesting interpretation of the line in Pirke Avos about how at 90 the man is like a corpse - the happy spin on such a grim line is that at 90 you no longer fear getting cancer or breaking your neck. Breaking your hip will kill you (although hopefully that's not what's happening to an old friend from back home who broke his hip and has been sick ever since - made it to 90 very healthy but after one slip it has been pretty touch and go)

But now Margot Kidder is guest starring on Smallville so that's pretty much the Superman guest stars. Unless Gene Hackman suddenly shows up as Lex Luther's new mentor...

No, actually I hadn't heard that! That's pretty sad news. I wanted to see him run a marathon too. I hope that his death doesn't bum a lot of spinal cord injury victims out, but instead people look back and see the work he put into life. R.I.P. Mr. Reeve

Gene Hackman is going to show up as Lex's "real" father. But when will Ned Beatty show up?

On the whitewater rafting episode with the rednecks that make Clark and Lex squeal like pigs?

The pig squealing is reserved for Lois Lane -- the worst Lois Lane they could pick. I like Michael Ironside as Gen. Lane, tho. Micheal Ironisde in anything always means trouble.

But I have given up Smallville fo Lost Lost is a helluva lot better.

I'll catch Smallville in the reruns.

I've heard. Although I don't have a television at the moment. I'm thinking that the Lois Lane could be better but I haven't seen it this season. Either way she can't be any worse than Lana. Now I just want to know why the writers of Superman are so obsessed with this LL thing. Is it a fetish for Little Lulu?

Of course I'm thinking that Smallville might have just gone through a third season slump like Angel and that it will be all better now. One can hope.
